A certificate of analysis (COA) is a lab report on the chemical make-up of a product. In this case, the product is industrial hemp. The COA shows the contents of the cannabinoids & other tested compounds such as potency, pesticide residue, heavy metals, water activity & microbiological activity (yeast, mold, bacteria)., etc. COA’s are used to verify that the contents of the product are matched to the advertised or marketed product. These reports are important for verifying that hemp extracts have less than .3% THC, as determined by the definition of Industrial Hemp as stated by law.

Winterization, also commonly referred to as an alcohol wash is a process that involves putting the raw cannabis extract through an alcohol wash that filters out some of the undesirable materials.
